National Park Service Centennial Ball

$30The public is invited to a celebratory Civil War Ball honoring 100 years of service of the National Park Service on Friday, August 26, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. Guests will enjoy an evening of dance instruction by the Victorian Dance Ensemble, light refreshments and live music by the Philadelphia Brigade Band. Guests are invited to wear Civil War period clothing for the event at the Gettysburg National Military Park and Museum Visitor’s Center, however, period dress is not required. No dance experience is needed and all dances will be demonstrated and taught to attendees.
Tickets are $55 per couple and $30 per person and may be purchased by calling 877-874-2478 or visit www.gettysburgfoundation.org. Proceeds from the National Park Service Centennial Ball benefit Antietam, Gettysburg, Harper’s Ferry and Monocacy National Parks.
Attendees can prepare for the event with a free, Civil War period dance class scheduled for Sunday, August 21 from 2 to 4 pm at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. The class is open to anyone who is interested in Civil War period dance instruction, regardless of whether you have purchased tickets for the centennial ball.
