Born and raised in Adams County, Pennsylvania, Jessica and her husband, Troy, created Celebrate Gettysburg magazine in 2007. Before starting the publication, Jessica was the art director for Frederick Magazine, a successful regional publication based in Frederick, Maryland. She was the president for the AIGA Blue Ridge chapter and has won numerous awards for her graphic design. Always eager to give back to the community, Jessica has helped to promote many local activities and has volunteered her design services to a variety of regional nonprofit organizations. She lives in downtown Gettysburg with her family.

Karen Hendricks is a a lifelong journalist of 30+ years and plays an important role with the editorial team at CG. In addition to overseeing the social channels at the magazine, Karen is also an accomplished freelance writer. Her skills with pen and paper are only the tip of the iceberg, as she is also an avid runner, recently completing 50 races to benefit 50 causes for her 50th birthday. Jaime Ridgley is a familar name to Celebrate Gettysburg. You may remember her as our very first editorial director. Now, she helps with editing and is a great source for helping solidify story ideas. Jaime attended the University of Maryland College Park, where she studied journalism and history. Today, she lives in Carroll County, Maryland, with her husband and two children. In her spare time, she enjoys combining her love of history and writing on her blog www.bygonemaryland.com.

Jessica Knouse is a native to Adams County and grew up at the Round Barn Farm. A problem solver at heart, she is also great at making connections and finding creative solutions to her writing assignments. She loves to travel, particularly to the West Coast. Jessica Rudy is a freelance writer and editor who started her journalism career in 2007 at the Gettysburg Times. As a journalist, arts marketer, musician, fiber artist, historian and occasional improv comedian, she uses her work to advocate for the power of creativity and storytelling to grow deep, lasting connections in communities. She lives in Fairfield with her husband and daughter and their cats.

Casey Martin, photographer, has been with CG for more than 15 years. In addition to being our right-hand photography man, Casey also owns Copper Cabin Kennel, is an approved photographer for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and competes in steer wrestling competitions—whew, we are tired! Pictured with Casey is his daughter Cassidy, who he describes as “the smartest kid and most beautiful soul I’ve ever had the pleasure to spend time with.”

Melissa Ring is an award-winning fine art portrait photographer and most recently a contributor to Celebrate Gettysburg. This Wonder Woman can craft up a storm, Photoshop almost anything, or faux-marble a kitchen counter. There isn’t much she can’t do! Melissa lives in Littlestown with her husband and three daughters. In additon to her creative talents, she is also passionate about volunteering at her children’s schools.

Alex began his journalism career in 2005 as a staff writer for the Gettysburg Times. He has covered wide breadth of stories, from municipal meetings that ended in screaming matches to police trapping a stray alligator in Cumberland Township. Hayes prides himself in taking a people-centric approach to journalism and believes everyone has a story that needs to be shared. He lives in Mount Joy Township with his wife and fellow writer, Ashley Andyshak Hayes as well as their dogs, Toby and Callie.

Ana Maria Villanueva- Lykes is a widely published writer, novelist, photographer and editor with a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from De La Salle University. She is the the former editor in chief of AsianTraveler Magazine and a former travel columnist for Oklahoma City’s the Tribune. After many years of exploring the world, she finally comes home to Hanover to write about the many charms of Pennsylvania.

Jane Malone is a former Frederick County, Md. public school history teacher. In her retirement, she became a Gettysburg Licensed Town Historian and Guide. When she retired from guiding, she joined the Board of Trustees of the Adams County Historical Society. Jane contributes to the historical departments in Celebrate Gettysburg, specifically Civil War Journal.

Emily Feldman serves as our 2024 summer Editorial intern. She lives in Westminster, Maryland, and is currently earning her bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in creative writing. Emily spends most of the year enjoying the view of the river at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. When she’s not in the classroom, Emily works as a peer tutor at the Writing & Speaking Center on campus.

Kelsey Kinard's images have graced Celebrate Gettysburg for the past eight years with her largest contributions being towards the wedding and women’s issues. In addition to being the owner of Lovefusion Photography, she is also blessed with a loving husband, two cats, and lots of interests.
