The exhibition in Schmucker Art Gallery, titled “Getting There,” features work by two contemporary artists Susanne Slavick and Andrew Ellis Johnson who are deeply concerned about the status of migrants and asylum-seekers.
In response to this exhibition, professors from various disciplines, along with Gallery Director Shannon Egan, will lead a conversation about divisive policies and real tragedies related to migration, emotional responses directed toward immigrants and nations, and the efficacy of the arts in political activism and social justice.
