The George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital Opens the 2019 Season

$2 – $6Visitors to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center have an opportunity to experience the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital throughout the 2019 summer season. The historic site is open for visitors Friday through Sunday, June 7 through Aug 11, and is only accessible via shuttle from the Museum & Visitor Center. The shuttle bus travels to and from the Museum & Visitor Center three times each hour, beginning at 10 a.m. with the final shuttle returning to the Museum & Visitor Center at 3:20 p.m.
Daily programs are offered. Special programs are offered some weekends at 12:30 p.m. in the lower level of the restored historic barn. Civil War era encampments are on site. Living historians from across the U.S. camp at the farm and provide visitors a glimpse of what happened there in 1863.

Living History Encampments:
2nd Corps Field Hospital CSA: Confederate field hospital with portrayal of Confederate surgeon, Hunter McGuire.
Confederate & Union Nurses: A unique portrayal of women who pioneered professional nursing and served during the War Between the States.
Visitors have the opportunity to purchase a single ticket to the historic site, or they can shuttle to the site free (upon request) with the purchase of a Film, Cyclorama & Museum Experience ticket at the Museum & Visitor Center. For tickets, visit GettysburgFoundation.org or call 877-874-2478.
