GettysGear keeps Gettysburg’s spirit at the heart of its business

By Katelynn Henry

For more than 15 years, the faces behind GettysGear have been a cornerstone of celebrating the community and local creativity. Cary Gregory, owner of GettysGear, and his family started their journey with The Great Gettysburg Addresses. The outreach program was designed to highlight unique local businesses and attractions.

Owners Cary and Janet Gregory

GettysGear was originally founded as an online venture to support the outreach program. Customer enthusiasm inspired the family to open a physical location. Now located on Baltimore Street, GettysGear is complete with a storefront, café and a small event venue space. Although the outreach program has since run its course, the Gregory family is still dedicated to supporting and promoting the community through new, innovative ways. “We strive to make a positive contribution to our community,” says Cary.

GettysGear has a variety of locally made products—everything from cigars to coffee to dog and cat treats to the Guardians of Gettysburg statues and apparel line. “We will only make something if we can be best-in-class,” says Cary. “We only offer products that we personally create or use. We are proud of everything on our shelves.” Along with these products, GettysGear also offers a space to host events. The private room is ideal for anything from bridal or baby showers and birthday parties to meetings and seminars.

The family’s contribution to the community doesn’t end at their store. They consistently give back by sponsoring local events, hosting their own community gatherings and partnering with other local operations such as The Civil War Breakfast Club and The Battle of Gettysburg Podcast.

With its variety of products, events and dedication to the Gettysburg community, GettysGear is a must-stop shop for locals and visitors alike.
