All Things Big & Small Exhibit
February 2, 2016 @ 10:00 am - February 28, 2016 @ 3:00 pm
FreeBig and small. That’s what’s going on at the Hanover Area Arts Guild in February. It’s a big show, but you might see small art. The artisans at the downtown Hanover gallery, 32 Carlisle St., have been inspired to create paintings, sculptures, fabric art, photography and other crafts that are 9 inches or smaller or 24 inches and bigger. “Our members always come up big,” said Eric Miller, member of the Arts Guild Show Committee. “The artists take the theme and run with it. From 3-D sculptures to huge paintings, the big side of this exhibit should be exciting. But don’t forget about the small things, too. I know little art has a big place and it should be a great show to see all the paintings and appreciate the time it took to create these works.” The Arts Guild has more than 125 members, from those who make their living as artists to those just starting out. The members live in Hanover, Gettysburg, northern Maryland and surrounding areas. Each month, the downtown Hanover gallery changes its display. The works within that display are all for sale to the public. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.
