Hanover Chili Cook-Off

Remember 2020? We don’t either so, please, welcome back to one of Hanover’s largest nonprofit fundraising events, The Hanover Chili Cook Off to be held on Sunday, September 5th from 11 am to 5 pm during the 25th* Annual Hanover Chili Cook Off. Chili City, PA will be the official home of the International Chili Society (ICS) PA State Championship Cook Off and the Pennsylvania Keystone Cup Open Chili Championship. As in past years, the Hanover Chili Cook Off promises to be the most significant fund-raising event for nonprofit organizations in the Hanover community. With the influx of Cooks and chili fans, Chili City, PA will rank 85th in Pennsylvania municipal population, with the heaviest Chili fan demographic in all of America.
Expect over 10,000 citizens to inhabit Chili City, PA, sampling chili of all varieties from an expected 50 Chili Cooks and lots of family fun. Traditional Red Chili, Chili Verde and Homestyle Chili and Salsa competitions will be judged by ICS (www.chilicookoff.com) standards to crown the PA State ICS Champions. These winners earn an entry into the 2022 ICS World Championship Chili Cook Off. Pennsylvania residents will also cook to win the PA Keystone Cup Open Chili competition along with local restaurants competing in the commercial division.
The Masked Juggler, Magic by Marc, Nick the One-Man-Band and face painting by Suzanne will be in the field performing for young and old. Musical entertainment will play onstage all day with a brief interlude for the Jalapeno Pepper eating contest at 2:30, enter if you dare!
Food, ice cream, beverage and merchandise vendors will be in place, so bring an appetite for more than chili to add to your fun.
