HABPI’s Ride for Trails

This year’s Ride for Trails bike ride takes place on Saturday, September 22, 2018, beginning and ending at the Rec Park in Gettysburg (545 Long Lane, Gettysburg, PA). Two different routes are being offered: a 25-mile ride and a 12-mile ride. Both rides travel through the Gettysburg National Military Park and over picturesque Sachs Covered Bridge. The longer ride will also wind its way through the quiet country roads of southern Adams County with a rest stop midway through the route. Preregistration is available on line through the end of the day on Sept 20.  Ride-day registration is also available and opens at 8:15 a.m. The self-paced longer ride leaves at 9 a.m.  The shorter ride will be guided by members of HABPI and departs at 9:30. A free lunch is provided starting at 11 a.m.  A t-shirt is included in the price of registration for those registering by Sept 1.  By participating in HABPI’s 3rd Annual Ride for Trails you will be supporting public recreational opportunities and alternative transportation within the local community and Adams County.  Proceeds from this event will be used to design, develop, and maintain trails and bike routes in and around Gettysburg, PA. HABPI is currently pursuing development of an off-road bike/pedestrian trail from Gettysburg south to the Maryland border that will fill in one of the missing pieces of the Grand History Trail.  For more information about the 3rd Annual Ride for Trails, please visit the HABPI web site at www.habpi.org
