Visitors to the Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad StationTM can enjoy First Friday events, tours and programs throughout the 2019 summer season. Take time to explore the station through a self-guided tour. Learn about the railroad’s role at Gettysburg and President Abraham Lincoln’s arrival for the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery where he delivered the Gettysburg Address. The museum offers free admission. The Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad StationTM is located at 35 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg.

Artist-in-Residence Reception

The Gettysburg Foundation invites the public to attend a free Artist-in-Residence reception showcasing artist Stephen Towns, a painter and fiber artist based in Baltimore, Md. Through his oil, acrylic and fiber artwork, Towns explores how American history influences contemporary society, drawing much of his visual inspiration from medieval altarpieces, impressionist paintings and wax cloth prints. His work has been exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art, Arlington Arts Center, York College of Pennsylvania, Goucher College, Galerie Myrtis, Gallery CA, and is in the private collection of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, Baltimore Museum of Art, The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Art + Practice and private collections nationally and abroad. Through the Artist-in-Residence program, the National Park Service invites artists to Gettysburg to spend one month at Gettysburg National Military Park working on their artwork.
