Encounters with History: The Union Army at Gettysburg – Great Leadership from Unexpected Places

March 23, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$110.00

Join Licensed Battlefield Guide Darryl Roberts for an exclusive Encounters with History program on Saturday, March 23, 2019.

Explore how decisions were made on the Gettysburg battlefield. The leaders of the Union Army, who are known today as heroes of the battle, were influenced by their life experiences prior to the battle in July 1863. Hear the stories of several Union officers at Gettysburg and learn how their lives prior to the war may have led them to such heroic actions on the battlefield.

The full-day program will begin indoors with a lecture from 9 a.m. – Noon in the Ford Education Center at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center. Lunch (included in the registration fee) will be provided, followed by a moderate walking tour on the battlefield from 1 – 4 p.m.

This special program is limited to 44 attendees. Registration is required, and the non-member registration fee is $110 (discounts available for Friends of Gettysburg). To register, visit GettysburgFoundation.org or call 717-339-2148.
