Adams County Community Appreciation Day on Veterans Day

Free Admission to Adams County Residents and Veterans

The Gettysburg Foundation and Gettysburg National Military Park invite veterans and Adams County residents to a Community Appreciation Day on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2018. On four designated Community Appreciation Days each year, Adams County residents enjoy free admission to the Cyclorama painting, Film and Museum Experience at Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center. This fourth appreciation day of the year falls on Veterans Day, and U.S. military veterans will be admitted free of charge.

Visitors can start with a film presentation of A New Birth of Freedom, immediately followed by the sound and light show on the spectacular 377-foot Gettysburg Cyclorama painting of Pickett’s Charge completed in 1884. Then visit the 12-gallery Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War. The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center is located at 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Veterans Day Hours:  9 a.m. to 5 p.m.―the last film and cyclorama show will begin at 4 p.m.

Local visitors should be prepared to show proof of Adams County residence, such as a driver’s license, to obtain tickets. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early.
